Perkins became starting center on 2008 and 2010 Finals teams and one of the best defensive anchors of the era. Banks was a rotation guard, Bell and Jones were out of league quickly. Perkins alone makes this a clear Celtics win.
Memphis Grizzlies Perspective
Boston Celtics clearly won the completed-value comparison. Memphis received rights to Troy Bell; rights to Dahntay Jones while surrendering rights to Marcus Banks; rights to Kendrick Perkins. The decisive gap comes from the superior player, draft asset or downstream value retained by the counterpart after the transaction matured.
