Trade Analysis
Budinger was a useful wing, but Houston moved him and Lior Eliyahu’s rights for the No. 18 pick and selected Jones. Jones became a multi-year rotation forward on playoff teams and provided more controllable value than the outgoing package produced for Minnesota. The result is favorable without reaching clear-win territory. The edge remains modest because Minnesota Timberwolves still received useful value, but 2012 first-round pick (#18-Terrence Jones) ultimately gave Houston more control and production than the cost represented by Chase Budinger.
