Clippers Win

Los Angeles acquired the rights to Eric Bledsoe for a protected future first that eventually became Fab Melo. Bledsoe developed into a high-level starter and later trade asset, producing enormous surplus value. The transaction sent first-round pick (protected top 10 in 2012-15, unprotected in 2016) (2012 #22-Fab Melo) to Oklahoma City Thunder and brought rights to Eric Bledsoe into the Clippers franchise. The separation in realized player impact and downstream draft value is large enough to support a clear Clippers-side win. The grade reflects the actual role, longevity and downstream asset value produced after the trade, while still recognizing the roster and competitive-window logic that existed when the transaction was made.
