Memphis received Jeff Turner and sent Kenny Gattison; 1996 second-round pick (least favorable of Bullets, Grizzlies, Knicks picks) (#49-Amal McCaskill). the other team produced the stronger hindsight value after player production, draft conversion, role, contract timing and downstream asset use were considered. The disadvantage is modest: the outgoing Grizzlies asset became the best contributor or the incoming package failed to create comparable durable value. Memphis still received some useful return, preventing the evaluation from overstating the loss.
