Seattle used the 2006 pick on Yotam Halperin, who never played in the NBA, and converted the 2007 Carl Landry pick into a 2008 second-round pick plus cash before later selling Sasha Kaun draft rights. Memphis therefore holds a slight completed-value edge rather than the prior Seattle A-/Memphis C split.
Memphis acquired the draft rights to Lawrence Roberts on June 28, 2005 for cash plus second-round picks in 2006 and 2007. Roberts played both of his NBA seasons for the Grizzlies, appearing in 87 regular-season games with 18 starts. His second year was the more useful one: 54 games, 18 starts, 5.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. That is modest rotation value, but it is real team production from the No. 55 draft rights.
The first incoming second became No. 53 Yotam Halperin in 2006. Halperin had a strong international career but never appeared in an NBA regular-season game. Seattle therefore retained his rights without receiving on-court NBA value from that branch. The pick was not worthless as an asset, but it cannot be graded as if Halperin produced for the SuperSonics.
The 2007 second became No. 31 Carl Landry, but Seattle traded Landry’s draft rights to Houston for cash and a 2008 second-round pick. That later pick became No. 56 Sasha Kaun, whose rights Seattle then sold to Cleveland for cash. Seattle deserves credit for repeatedly monetizing the asset, but not for Landry’s productive Rockets career. Once attribution is corrected, Seattle’s return is cash, draft optionality and no direct NBA player production, while Memphis received 87 Roberts games.

Seattle obtained cash and two future seconds, yet Halperin never played in the NBA and the Landry branch was converted into another second plus cash before Kaun’s rights were sold. The prior Seattle A-/Memphis C grade incorrectly treated Landry’s later NBA career as Seattle value; correcting that attribution produces a much closer trade with Memphis slightly ahead.
