Miami received rights to Norris Cole and sent rights to Bojan Bogdanovic; 2014 second-round pick (#44-Markel Brown); cash in the 2011-06-24 transaction with Minnesota Timberwolves. Norris Cole gave Miami useful championship rotation minutes, but the outgoing rights to Bojan Bogdanovic represented the more valuable long-term NBA player asset. The grade is based on realized NBA production, draft conversion, contract/cap consequences and identifiable downstream use rather than the reputation of the assets at the moment of the deal. Miami still receives a B+ grade because the return was not valueless, but the stronger counterpart return earned an A- in hindsight. The directional verdict therefore reflects a real value gap without assuming that every later development or injury outcome was foreseeable when the transaction occurred.
