Miami acquired Kyle Lowry from Toronto for Precious Achiuwa and Goran Dragic. Lowry’s regular-season availability was uneven, but his playmaking, spacing and late-game experience helped stabilize teams that reached the 2022 Eastern Conference finals and the 2023 NBA Finals. Toronto received a younger controllable player in Achiuwa and did not leave the sign-and-trade empty-handed. The different forms of realized value leave the hindsight margin close enough to support an even evaluation.
