Bucks Win

Milwaukee won the Jack Sikma trade because it bought elite veteran fit at a point when the Bucks were still legitimate contenders. Sikma’s shooting, passing and rebounding made him an unusually versatile center for Don Nelson’s offense, and he remained a high-level contributor in Milwaukee. The Bucks paid Alton Lister and two future first-round picks, so the move carried genuine long-term cost. Those picks did not become players of comparable franchise value, however, and Sikma’s immediate production justified the win-now logic. The grade reflects both the sound process for a contender and the fact that the feared draft-capital downside never overwhelmed the return.
