Trade Analysis
Jerami Grant was an excellent development success in Oklahoma City. He grew into a versatile starting forward, helped playoff teams and later returned another first-round pick when the Thunder traded him to Denver. That would normally support a clear positive grade. The problem is the outgoing protected pick ultimately landed at No. 21 in 2020 and Philadelphia selected Tyrese Maxey, who developed into an All-Star-level guard. Because Maxey’s realized value now exceeds Grant’s Oklahoma City tenure and later trade return, the other team deserves the edge. This is still a good Thunder acquisition, not a failed process.
