Seattle received 1990 second round pick (#53-Abdul Shamsid-Deen) and sent Sonics agreed to not exercise their right of first refusal on free agent Maurice Lucas. Seattle generated the stronger realized package. The grading is retrospective: named draft selections are evaluated by what they became, while unknown or still-protected picks are kept conservative. Later unrelated transactions are not credited as if they were guaranteed at the time of this deal. For a lower-profile transaction, the grade stays conservative and focuses on durable rotation value, pick conversion and the actual cost paid.
