New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco received Bob Gaiters from New York for Aaron Thomas. Gaiters appeared in nine 49ers games in 1962, starting once, rushing 36 times for 158 yards and catching two passes for 13 yards without a touchdown. He played for Denver the following season and never returned to San Francisco. The 49ers therefore received only a brief reserve contribution while Thomas became a long-term Giants starter and Pro Bowl-caliber receiver.
