Tampa Bay sent Philadelphia the 116th pick in 2011 and a 2012 fourth-rounder to move up 12 spots for tight end Luke Stocker. Stocker became a useful blocking tight end and spent seven seasons with the Buccaneers, but never developed into a major receiving weapon. Philadelphia got Casey Matthews at 116 and later used the 2012 fourth as part of the deal for linebacker DeMeco Ryans. The Eagles created the stronger overall return.
Philadelphia acquired veteran linebacker DeMeco Ryans and pick No. 88, which became Nick Foles, while Houston received picks No. 76 and No. 99, becoming Brandon Brooks and Ben Jones. The hindsight returns are unusually strong on both sides. Ryans stabilized the Eagles' defense and Foles became a Super Bowl MVP later in his Philadelphia career; Brooks and Jones developed into high-level, long-lasting NFL offensive linemen.
