Buffalo traded running back Darick Holmes to Green Bay for a 1999 fourth-round pick that became tight end Bobby Collins. Holmes immediately supplied 565 yards from scrimmage in 11 games for an injury-hit Packers backfield. Collins later played 26 games for Buffalo, catching 15 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Both returns were useful but limited, making the exchange essentially even.

Buffalo acquired defensive lineman David Bowens from Green Bay for tight end Bobby Collins in August 2001. Bowens did not record a regular-season appearance for the Bills and soon continued his career elsewhere. Collins at least appeared in four games for Green Bay and caught one pass for three yards. The production was negligible, but it was still more direct value than Buffalo received, giving the Packers a very modest hindsight win.
