Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers
Detroit acquired Merv Pregulman from Green Bay in June 1947, while the Packers received Damon Tassos and Detroit’s 1948 fifth-round pick, No. 27 Don Richards. Older descriptions of the draft compensation can sound like a “first choice,” but the verified selection was a fifth-rounder. Pregulman then gave Detroit multiple seasons of meaningful line play, creating a modest Lions advantage.
