Kansas City sent linebacker Edgar Jones and its 2014 seventh-round pick to Dallas for the Cowboys’ 2014 sixth-rounder. That sixth became guard Zach Fulton, who stepped into Kansas City’s lineup as a rookie and developed into a durable multi-year starter. Jones played only seven games for Dallas before an injury interrupted his season, while seventh-rounder Will Smith never created comparable value. The Chiefs clearly won the exchange.
