Atlanta Falcons and Las Vegas Raiders
Atlanta Falcons Win Tier: major
Confidence: high
Oakland acquired cornerback DeAngelo Hall from Atlanta for a 2008 second-round pick and a 2009 fifth-rounder, then signed him to a massive long-term contract. The experiment lasted only eight games before the Raiders released him. Atlanta converted the draft capital into pieces of later deals that produced Sam Baker, Harry Douglas, Kroy Biermann, Garrett Reynolds and Vance Walker, creating an enormous value gap.
Pick 2008 2nd round pick (34th overall; packaged with picks 48 and 103 to Washington for picks 21, 84 and 154, used on Sam Baker, Harry Douglas and Kroy Biermann; Washington later selected Devin Thomas at 34)
Pick 2009 5th round pick (143rd overall; traded to Dallas for picks 156 and 210, used on Garrett Reynolds and Vance Walker; Dallas later selected DeAngelo Smith at 143)
