Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Miami Dolphins Win Tier: standard
Confidence: high
Miami moved down fourteen spots in the 2017 seventh round, giving Tampa Bay pick No. 223 for No. 237 and a 2018 seventh-round choice. The Dolphins selected Isaiah Ford, who eventually produced 63 NFL receptions and 681 yards, mostly with Miami. Tampa Bay chose defensive tackle Stevie Tu'ikolovatu, who never appeared in a regular-season game, leaving Miami with the clearly better realized return.
Miami Dolphins Win Tier: standard
Confidence: high
Miami traded receiver Isaiah Ford to New England at the 2020 deadline for a conditional 2022 sixth-round pick. Ford caught only a handful of passes for the Patriots and was waived roughly a month later, after which Miami reclaimed him. The Dolphins therefore recovered the player while also retaining the draft compensation that was ultimately conveyed, turning a short-term roster move into a clear value gain.
