Chicago moved from No. 20 to No. 11 on April 29, 2021 by sending New York picks No. 20 and No. 164 plus first- and fourth-round selections in 2022. The Bears used No. 11 on quarterback Justin Fields, who started 38 games over three Chicago seasons, threw for 6,674 yards and 40 touchdowns, rushed for 2,220 yards and 14 scores, and was later traded to Pittsburgh. He delivered real starting-quarterback value but did not become Chicago's long-term answer.

Chicago later used the No. 202 pick to acquire guard Jonah Jackson from the Rams. Jackson started all 17 games for the 2025 Bears and remained a starter entering 2026, giving Chicago the stronger realized downstream return to date.

Kansas City acquired Justin Fields from the Jets for a 2027 sixth-round pick after New York moved in a different direction at quarterback. Fields had started nine games for the Jets in 2025, throwing for 1,259 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception while adding 383 rushing yards and four scores. For only a late future choice, the Chiefs gained experienced quarterback depth and earn a B; New York receives a C.
