Pittsburgh sent Green Bay a 2025 seventh-round pick for veteran edge rusher Preston Smith at the 2024 deadline. Smith provided two sacks and three tackles for loss in eight regular-season games, largely as rotational depth behind T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith and Nick Herbig, then Pittsburgh released him in February 2025. Green Bay turned the pick into Micah Robinson. The Steelers received useful short-term help, but the original A- grade greatly overstated the return.
