Stefon Diggs NFL Trade History

Minnesota sent pick No. 137 to Atlanta for Nos. 146 and 185. The Vikings used No. 146 on Stefon Diggs, who became a star receiver and later brought back another major draft package. Atlanta selected Grady Jarrett at No. 137, landing a two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle and long-term franchise cornerstone. When both sides turn fifth-round territory into elite players, neither deserves to be called the loser.

Minnesota turned an unhappy-star situation into the No. 22 pick in 2020 and used it on Justin Jefferson, immediately replacing elite receiver production with a younger centerpiece on a rookie contract. The additional fifth-, sixth-, and future fourth-round assets deepened the return. Because Jefferson became a franchise-level receiver rather than merely a serviceable replacement, Minnesota achieved the rare outcome of trading away a star without losing the long-term talent battle.

Los Angeles traded pick No. 252 and a 2024 sixth-rounder to Buffalo on April 29, 2023 for pick No. 215. The Rams selected running back Zach Evans, who appeared in 10 regular-season games as a rookie, rushing nine times for 19 yards without a touchdown, and never played another regular-season game for Los Angeles. The move-up therefore produced only a brief reserve contribution.

Buffalo traded Stefon Diggs, the 2024 No. 189 pick and a 2025 fifth-round choice to Houston for Minnesota's 2025 second-round pick. That second-rounder became No. 56 overall and was one of three selections Buffalo sent to Chicago to move up for defensive tackle T.J. Sanders while also acquiring picks 72 and 240. The Bills therefore converted Diggs and two later picks into premium 2025 draft capital that helped reshape their defensive class.
