Green Bay acquired quarterback Lynn Dickey from Houston for John Hadl, Ken Ellis, two draft choices and cash. Seattle acquired rookie receiver Steve Largent from the Houston Oilers for an eighth-round pick in the 1977 draft. Largent spent the next 14 seasons with the Seahawks, caught 819 passes for 13,089 yards and 100 touchdowns, made seven Pro Bowls and retired holding six major NFL receiving records. The modest price made the deal one of the great steals in league history.
