Trevis Gipson NFL Trade History

Buffalo traded Wyatt Teller and a 2021 seventh-round pick to Cleveland for 2020 fifth- and sixth-round selections. Teller became an elite guard for the Browns, earning repeated Pro Bowl and All-Pro recognition. Buffalo’s return was far better than the original grade suggests, however: the fifth-rounder was included in the Stefon Diggs package and the sixth-rounder became kicker Tyler Bass. Cleveland still landed the best direct player, but both teams created major value.

Minnesota turned an unhappy-star situation into the No. 22 pick in 2020 and used it on Justin Jefferson, immediately replacing elite receiver production with a younger centerpiece on a rookie contract. The additional fifth-, sixth-, and future fourth-round assets deepened the return. Because Jefferson became a franchise-level receiver rather than merely a serviceable replacement, Minnesota achieved the rare outcome of trading away a star without losing the long-term talent battle.

Minnesota turned a future fourth-round pick into safety Camryn Bynum after Chicago used the acquired 2020 fifth-rounder on edge rusher Trevis Gipson. Gipson supplied some pass-rush production during three Bears seasons, but Bynum became a full-time Vikings starter from 2022 through 2024, starting every regular-season game in that span and producing eight interceptions before leaving in free agency.

Seattle acquired edge defender Trevis Gipson from Jacksonville on August 26, 2024, for a 2025 sixth-round choice that became No. 194 overall. Gipson appeared in only five games for the Seahawks and logged a limited defensive role before the relationship ended. The brief return did not justify surrendering a draft asset that Jacksonville ultimately retained in the next draft.
