Seattle acquired tackle Tyler Polumbus from Detroit for a 2012 seventh-round pick, with no additional 2010 seventh-rounder in the official Seahawks record. Polumbus appeared in 20 games and started seven during his two Seattle seasons, providing useful emergency line depth. Detroit eventually used No. 219 on Trevor Guyton, who did not become a Lions regular-season contributor. Seattle received the clearer value from a low-cost depth trade.
Detroit turned a fifth- and seventh-round package into linebacker Tahir Whitehead and Travis Lewis, while Minnesota received Trevor Guyton plus a future fourth-rounder. Whitehead became the decisive piece, growing into a long-term Detroit starter and productive linebacker. Minnesota later used the future fourth as part of its 2013 move for Cordarrelle Patterson, which prevents this from being a lopsided loss, but Detroit realized the cleaner direct return.
