Seattle Seahawks received
1983 conditional draft pick (trade criteria not met)
Seattle traded linebacker Terry Beeson to Atlanta in April 1982 for a conditional 1983 draft pick. Both Seattle's team history and transaction records confirm the exchange, while Seattle's history states that the trade criteria were not met. Beeson did not play a regular-season game for Atlanta, so neither club realized meaningful on-field or draft value.
1991 seventh-round pick (186th overall, Mark Tucker)
Seattle Seahawks received
Ronnie Lee
Atlanta traded Ronnie Lee to Seattle for a 1991 seventh-round choice, No. 186 overall, associated with Mark Tucker. Recovering a pick for a veteran lineman was reasonable, but the compensation was late and carried limited expected value. Lee then started twenty-one games for Seattle over three seasons, a level of production that outweighed Atlanta’s modest draft return.
1997 4th round pick (100th overall, Henri Crockett)
Seattle Seahawks received
1997 1st round pick (3rd overall, Shawn Springs)
1997 3rd round pick (63rd overall subsequently traded, Frank Middleton)
Seattle sent Atlanta picks 11, 41, 70 and 100 in 1997 for No. 3 and No. 63. The Seahawks drafted Pro Bowl cornerback Shawn Springs third overall, then used the acquired third-rounder as part of the move from No. 12 to No. 6 that landed Hall of Fame tackle Walter Jones. Atlanta received four players but no comparable star, making Seattle's return overwhelming.
Atlanta traded offensive tackle Michael Thompson to Seattle on April 10, 2003, for a conditional 2004 draft choice. Seattle's official trade history states that the condition was not met, so Atlanta never received the pick. Thompson did not make Seattle's regular-season roster, leaving the Falcons without compensation and the Seahawks without on-field production from the acquisition.
Seattle moved out of pick No. 26 and received Nos. 31, 95 and 249 from Atlanta. The Seahawks kept moving No. 31, eventually building a branch that included Malik McDowell, while No. 95 became Delano Hill and No. 249 became Chris Carson. Carson delivered two 1,100-yard rushing seasons and 3,502 career rushing yards. Atlanta got Takk McKinley, a productive but short-lived pass rusher before waiving him in 2020.
Seattle traded offensive tackle Michael Jerrell to Atlanta on August 26, 2025, for a conditional seventh-round choice in the 2027 draft. The transaction gave Seattle a chance to recover future capital from a depth lineman, but the condition remains the defining uncertainty. Until the selection is finally realized, the Seahawks’ return is best treated as limited and provisional.
