Trade 1

April 1, 1996

Baltimore Ravens Win
Baltimore Ravens B-
Dallas Cowboys D+

Baltimore Ravens received

  • 1997 4th round pick (118th overall, Tyrus McCloud)

Dallas Cowboys received

  • 1996 5th round pick (157th overall, Kenneth McDaniel)

Baltimore Ravens received 1997 4th round pick (118th overall, Tyrus McCloud). Baltimore received Dallas' 1997 fourth-round choice, which became Tyrus McCloud. McCloud appeared in 23 games for the Ravens and provided the only meaningful regular-season contribution produced by the exchange. McCloud's 23 Ravens games clearly exceeded the return Dallas realized from McDaniel, giving Baltimore the better outcome without requiring a date change. That outcome supports a B- grade for Baltimore Ravens.

Trade 2

July 1, 2014

Dallas Cowboys Win
Baltimore Ravens C+
Dallas Cowboys B+

Baltimore Ravens received

  • 2015 6th round pick (204th overall, Darren Waller)

Dallas Cowboys received

  • Rolando McClain
  • 2015 7th round pick (243rd overall, Laurence Gibson)

Dallas acquired Rolando McClain and a 2015 seventh-round pick for a conditional 2015 sixth-rounder. McClain returned from retirement and immediately started 12 games for a 12-4 Cowboys team, providing badly needed linebacker play. Baltimore’s sixth-round selection became No. 204, Darren Waller, while Dallas’ seventh became Laurence Gibson. Waller’s later stardom came after Baltimore released him, so Dallas retains the stronger team-specific return.
