Miami sent the 153rd pick in the 2004 draft to Baltimore for picks No. 160 and No. 222. The Ravens selected linebacker Roderick Green, who appeared in 25 games for Baltimore and recorded two sacks before continuing his career in San Francisco. Miami selected Tony Bua and Derrick Pope; Pope alone played 55 games for the Dolphins. The extra depth and longer team contribution give Miami a modest win.
Miami acquired veteran tackle Bryant McKinnie from Baltimore in October 2013 for a conditional 2015 seventh-round pick. The condition was triggered when McKinnie made ten starts for the Dolphins, so Miami did receive needed short-term line help. Baltimore, however, had already replaced him and recovered an asset that later became part of the Haloti Ngata trade package. The Ravens get a narrow edge rather than a landslide.
2016 7th round pick (227th overall subsequently traded, Stephen Weatherly)
Miami traded cornerback Will Davis to Baltimore for a conditional 2016 seventh-round pick that became No. 227. Davis appeared in only two games before tearing his ACL in October 2015 and played just a handful of games for Baltimore overall. Miami later packaged the acquired pick in a draft-day move that helped the Dolphins select Jakeem Grant. Turning a departing depth corner into usable draft leverage gave Miami the better result.
Miami sent picks No. 42 and No. 107 to Baltimore to move up four spots for Xavien Howard. Howard became a four-time Pro Bowler, a first-team All-Pro and one of the league's most productive interception creators during his Dolphins tenure. Baltimore drafted Kamalei Correa and Chris Moore with the return; both became NFL contributors, but neither approached Howard's impact. Miami turned a modest trade-up into a franchise-level defensive back.
Miami acquired offensive lineman Greg Mancz and a 2022 seventh-round pick from Baltimore for a 2022 sixth-round selection. Mancz supplied immediate depth, and Miami later used pick No. 224 on Cameron Goode. Baltimore used the higher No. 196 choice on Tyler Badie. The modest player and draft returns on both sides never created enough separation for a clear winner.
