- 2008 fifth round pick (#142-Zack Bowman)
Carolina acquired Chris Harris for a 2008 fifth-round pick, not an undisclosed 2007 selection. The pick became No. 142 and Chicago used it on Zack Bowman. Harris stepped into a major Panthers role and gave Carolina strong veteran value for a Day 3 cost. Bowman also became a real Bears contributor, so both teams benefited. Harris’ immediate starting impact gives Carolina the narrow edge rather than turning this into a one-sided trade.

Carolina Panthers received
Chicago reacquired safety Chris Harris from Carolina for linebacker Jamar Williams in April 2010. Harris immediately started all 16 games for the Bears, intercepted five passes, recorded 70 tackles and earned second-team All-Pro honors while helping Chicago reach the NFC Championship Game. Williams appeared in only three games for Carolina and made two tackles. The outcomes reverse the existing verdict and make Chicago the decisive winner.

- 2016 6th round pick (206th overall subsequently traded, Mike Thomas)
Carolina acquired veteran pass rusher Jared Allen from Chicago in September 2015 for a conditional 2016 sixth-round pick. Allen's Panthers stint was brief, but he supplied experienced edge depth to a defense that helped Carolina finish 15-1 and reach Super Bowl 50. Chicago was beginning a transition and recovered a late pick. For a contender paying a small price for useful veteran help, the Panthers got the better result.

Carolina sent Chicago D.J. Moore, the 2023 No. 9 pick, a 2023 second, a 2024 first and a 2025 second to move to No. 1 for Bryce Young. Young improved to 3,011 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2025, but Chicago’s return became Caleb Williams, Moore and additional premium players including Luther Burden III. Carolina sent picks No. 124 and No. 166 to Chicago in the 2026 draft and received Nos. 129 and 144. The Panthers used the new selections on Will Lee and Sam Hecht, improving their fifth-round position by 22 spots while sliding only five places in the fourth. With the players still early in their careers, the exchange remains a balanced Day 3 reshuffling rather than a settled long-term result.
