Carolina sent veteran linebacker Jon Beason to the Giants for a 2014 seventh-round pick after injuries had reduced his Panthers role. Beason quickly became a defensive leader in New York, started 11 games in 2013 and earned a new contract. Carolina later packaged pick No. 225 with another choice to move up for cornerback Bene Benwikere. Both sides found some value, but Beason’s immediate Giants impact gives New York the edge.
Carolina Panthers received Ryan Santoso from the New York Giants for a conditional 2022 seventh-round pick. The condition required Santoso to remain on Carolina's regular-season roster for two games, but he was waived after one, so the choice was never conveyed. Carolina therefore got a short kicker trial without surrendering draft capital, enough for a modest B- result.
The Giants acquired Brian Burns and pick No. 166 from Carolina for picks No. 39, No. 141 and a 2025 fifth-rounder, then signed Burns long term. Burns developed into a centerpiece, producing 16.5 sacks, 31 quarterback hits and 22 tackles for loss in 2025 while earning second-team All-Pro honors. Carolina received meaningful draft capital, but New York acquired elite performance and another useful pick.
