1964 fourth round pick (#47-Mike Reilly)
Minnesota Vikings received
Bill Brown
Minnesota acquired Bill Brown from Chicago for a 1964 fourth-round pick that became linebacker Mike Reilly. Brown developed into one of the foundational players of the early Vikings, spending 13 seasons in Minnesota, making four Pro Bowls, rushing for 5,757 yards, and entering the team's Ring of Honor. Reilly had a respectable six-year NFL career, but his value never approached Brown's franchise impact.
Minnesota acquired Chicago's 1966 fifth-round choice for guard Palmer Pyle and used No. 76 on defensive back Bob Hall. The Vikings' official draft history confirms the pick came from Chicago for Pyle. Hall never appeared in an NFL regular-season game, while Pyle's documented pro career after Minnesota continued with Oakland rather than Chicago. With neither acquired asset producing regular-season value for its new club, the exchange grades even.
Minnesota turned a future fourth-round pick into safety Camryn Bynum after Chicago used the acquired 2020 fifth-rounder on edge rusher Trevis Gipson. Gipson supplied some pass-rush production during three Bears seasons, but Bynum became a full-time Vikings starter from 2022 through 2024, starting every regular-season game in that span and producing eight interceptions before leaving in free agency.
