Detroit Lions received
1993 second round pick (#33-Ryan McNeil)
New York Jets received
1993 second round pick (#36-Coleman Rudolph)
1993 fifth round pick (#120-Adrian Murrell)
Detroit moved from No. 33 to No. 36 in the 1993 second round and received an additional fifth-rounder from the Jets. Detroit selected cornerback Ryan McNeil at No. 33, while New York took Coleman Rudolph at No. 36 and Adrian Murrell at No. 120. McNeil had the strongest overall career, but Murrell's productive Jets seasons made New York's two-pick return valuable.
2007 seventh-round pick (#212 overall; later traded to Dallas for Sean Ryan)
The Jets traded Jon McGraw to Detroit on August 10, 2005 for the conditional return that became Detroit’s 2007 seventh-round pick, No. 212. McGraw gave the Lions 24 games, five starts and 65 combined tackles across 2005-06. New York later sent No. 212 to Dallas for tight end Sean Ryan, who played 26 games with four starts for the Jets. Both sides converted modest assets into useful depth.
The Jets moved from No. 76 to No. 65 in the 2009 third round to select running back Shonn Greene. Detroit received Nos. 76, 115 and 228, turning those choices into DeAndre Levy, Sammie Lee Hill and Lydon Murtha. Greene contributed for New York, but the Lions gained three selections and found substantial defensive value, giving Detroit the clear win.
2011 7th round pick (231st overall subsequently traded, Frank Kearse)
New York Jets received
Kevin O'Connell
Detroit Lions sent quarterback Kevin O'Connell to the Jets and received the 2011 seventh-round slot at No. 231. Detroit later used that draft asset as part of the Shaun Hill transaction, giving the club some practical leverage from a player it no longer needed. That modest but usable return earns a B- and gives Detroit the edge.
conditional 2025 7th round pick from New York Jets (did not convey)
New York Jets received
conditional 2025 6th round pick from Detroit Lions (did not convey)
Detroit Lions received Denzel Mims and conditional 2025 7th round pick from New York Jets (did not convey) in the 2023-07-19 exchange with New York Jets. Mims was waived before the regular season and played no regular-season game for Detroit, while the conditional seventh never conveyed. The realized value remains close enough to support an even result.
Detroit traded up from No. 50 to No. 44 in the 2026 second round and selected Michigan edge rusher Derrick Moore. The Lions paid No. 50 plus No. 128, a straightforward premium to secure a pass-rushing prospect they valued. Because Moore has not yet played a regular-season NFL game, Detroit's side is best judged as a reasonable targeted move rather than a proven win.
