Minnesota Vikings received
1972 third round pick (#59-Bart Buetow)
Green Bay reacquired the rights to quarterback Zeke Bratkowski from Minnesota in January 1971 and sent the Vikings a 1972 third-round pick, No. 59. Bratkowski returned for six games with the Packers in 1971, while Minnesota used the acquired choice on Bart Buetow. The pick carried more nominal value, but neither return became a major long-term prize, leaving the trade close to even.
1985 seventh round pick (#171-Eric Wilson (Wendell))
Minnesota Vikings received
Jan Stenerud
Minnesota acquired Hall of Fame kicker Jan Stenerud from Green Bay on July 17, 1984 for a 1985 seventh-round pick. Stenerud immediately made 20 of 23 field-goal attempts in 1984 and handled the Vikings’ kicking job for two seasons. Green Bay used the seventh-round selection on Eric Wilson, who did not create comparable NFL value. Minnesota received the more useful realized return.
2008 5th round pick (137th overall, John David Booty)
Minnesota traded up in the fifth round of the 2008 draft to select USC quarterback John David Booty at No. 137. Green Bay received the picks that became tackle Breno Giacomini at No. 150 and quarterback Matt Flynn at No. 209. Booty never became an NFL regular, while both Packers selections produced substantially longer careers.
Green Bay sent picks 53 and 59 to Minnesota for No. 34 and selected Christian Watson. Watson has 133 catches for 2,264 yards and 20 receiving touchdowns through four seasons and signed another extension in 2026. Minnesota used No. 59 on Ed Ingram and later packaged No. 53 with other picks to move up for Andrew Booth Jr. Ingram supplied 41 starts, but Watson became the highest-impact player, giving Green Bay the win.
