Quentin Groves
Jacksonville Jaguars sent Quentin Groves to Oakland for the 2010 fifth-round slot at No. 158, a choice Jacksonville later moved in another transaction. The Jaguars recovered useful draft currency from a former second-rounder who had not become a core defender. Because the pick itself did not directly become a major Jacksonville player, the return settles at a modest B-.
Jacksonville sent the 108th pick to Oakland for veteran linebacker Kirk Morrison and pick No. 153, then used the fifth-rounder on Austen Lane. Morrison started all 16 games in 2010, while Lane developed into a multi-year defensive-line contributor. Oakland’s Jacoby Ford was an explosive receiver and returner, including three kickoff-return touchdowns as a rookie, making this a competitive trade that Jacksonville wins narrowly.
Jacksonville moved from No. 38 to No. 35 in the 2019 draft and added later picks, selecting tackle Jawaan Taylor at No. 35, Ryquell Armstead at No. 140 and Dontavius Russell at No. 235. The Raiders received Nos. 38 and 109 and moved those choices again. Taylor became a four-year starting right tackle for Jacksonville, giving the Jaguars the clearest realized value.
Jacksonville acquired Jakobi Meyers from Las Vegas at the 2025 deadline for 2026 fourth- and sixth-round picks. Meyers quickly became a reliable target, produced for a winning Jaguars stretch and then agreed to a long-term extension. The price was meaningful, but Jacksonville did not rent him for only a few games; it added an established receiver who became part of the club's continuing plan.
