Seattle Seahawks received
Cordell Taylor
Seattle acquired cornerback Cordell Taylor from Jacksonville on September 5, 1999, for a conditional 2001 draft choice. Seattle's official trade history states that the condition was not met, so the Jaguars never received the pick. Taylor appeared in two games for the Seahawks, making this a tiny but positive return obtained without surrendered draft capital.
Seattle traded cornerback Ike Charlton to Jacksonville in June 2002 and received a 2003 seventh-round selection that its official trade history identifies as No. 222 overall, used on kicker Josh Brown. Brown became Seattle’s primary kicker for five seasons and scored heavily for a perennial contender. Turning a surplus defensive back into that long-term specialist value was an excellent Seahawks outcome.
Seattle acquired cornerback Sidney Jones from Jacksonville at the 2021 roster deadline for a 2022 sixth-round selection, No. 188 overall. Jones moved into a meaningful role in the Seahawks secondary and gave the team starting-caliber snaps for a very small draft cost. That immediate defensive value made the trade worthwhile even though his Seattle tenure was not especially long.
Seattle acquired edge defender Trevis Gipson from Jacksonville on August 26, 2024, for a 2025 sixth-round choice that became No. 194 overall. Gipson appeared in only five games for the Seahawks and logged a limited defensive role before the relationship ended. The brief return did not justify surrendering a draft asset that Jacksonville ultimately retained in the next draft.
Seattle acquired defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris from Jacksonville in October 2024 for a 2026 sixth-round selection. The Seahawks added an established interior defender during the season without sacrificing premium draft capital. Robertson-Harris immediately strengthened a position of need, giving Seattle useful veteran snaps at a price low enough to make the acquisition efficient even without a long-term star outcome.
