1974 fifth round pick (#119-Clyde Powers)
New York traded offensive lineman Wayne Walton to Kansas City on August 22, 1973 for a future draft choice. The pick became Kansas City's 1974 fifth-round selection, No. 119 overall, which the Giants used on safety Clyde Powers. Powers appeared in 56 regular-season games for New York from 1974 through 1977 and became a multi-year starter.
The Giants acquired kicker Lawrence Tynes from Kansas City for a 2008 seventh-round pick, then received years of high-leverage value from him. Tynes kicked the overtime field goal that sent New York to Super Bowl XLII and remained with the club through another championship run. Kansas City used No. 239 on Mike Merritt, who never played an NFL game.
2023 3rd round pick (100th overall subsequently traded, Tre Tucker)
2023 6th round pick (209th overall, Tre Hawkins)
Kansas City acquired Kadarius Toney from the Giants for a 2023 compensatory third and sixth-round pick. Toney never became a dependable regular-season receiver, but his touchdown and Super Bowl-record 65-yard punt return were pivotal in the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVII victory. New York used the third-round asset to acquire Darren Waller and drafted Tre Hawkins with the sixth. Waller lasted one Giants season. The championship impact shifts the trade toward Kansas City.
Kansas City acquired offensive lineman Joshua Ezeudu from the New York Giants on August 26, 2026 for a 2028 seventh-round pick. Ezeudu brings 33 games and 10 starts of NFL experience at guard, tackle and as an extra lineman, giving the Chiefs inexpensive versatility for a distant late-round selection. Kansas City gets the stronger current grade because the acquisition cost is minimal and the player can help immediately, while New York still deserves credit for converting a roster-bubble lineman into future draft capital.
