Las Vegas Raiders received
1977 second round pick (#35-Mike Davis (Leonard))
Philadelphia Eagles received
James McAlister
Oakland sent James McAlister to Philadelphia for a future second-round pick, then used the No. 35 selection in 1977 on defensive back Mike Davis. McAlister gave the Eagles useful short-term offense, but Davis played 115 games for the Raiders and became a durable secondary contributor during a championship era. The longer, more valuable return gives Oakland the win without making Philadelphia's side a total miss.
Philadelphia acquired veteran running back Charlie Smith and receiver Kent Gaydos from Oakland on September 9, 1975, for future draft choices whose exact selections are not established. Smith failed his Eagles physical and was released four days later. Gaydos also failed to become a Philadelphia regular-season contributor, leaving Oakland with the better side of a small transaction.
Philadelphia acquired veteran defensive tackle Art Thoms from Oakland on September 1, 1977 for the Eagles' 1978 seventh-round and 1979 ninth-round selections. Thoms appeared in 12 games with one start for Philadelphia, then left after the season.
future draft consideration (selection not identified)
Philadelphia sent receiver Ken Payne to Oakland on March 7, 1979, for future draft consideration whose exact selection is not securely identified. Payne never played a regular-season game for the Raiders and was released before the season. Philadelphia's downstream return cannot be tied to a specific draftee, but Oakland's player side clearly produced no regular-season value.
The Raiders acquired veteran linebacker Jerry Robinson from Philadelphia on September 30, 1985, for a 1986 second-round pick that eventually reached the Eagles and became Alonzo Johnson at No. 48. Robinson then gave the Raiders seven seasons, 97 games and 70 starts, providing far more sustained defensive value than Philadelphia ultimately received from Johnson.
Las Vegas Raiders received Bobby Hoying. Bobby Hoying supplied useful backup-quarterback service and was part of Oakland's 2000 postseason run after arriving from Philadelphia. That outcome supports a B- grade because the return is measured by the direct football value Las Vegas Raiders actually received after the deal, compared with the asset sent the other way.
Philadelphia acquired cornerback Jakorian Bennett from Las Vegas on August 4, 2025 in a straight player-for-player trade for defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV. Bennett appeared in 11 regular-season games with one start for the Eagles, recording seven tackles and one pass defensed. Booker became a much larger part of the Raiders' defense, playing all 17 games with 13 starts.
