Both clubs’ transaction logs place the trade on March 14, 2013. Philadelphia received Arrelious Benn and Tampa Bay’s seventh-round choice, while the Buccaneers received Philadelphia’s sixth-rounder and a conditional 2014 selection. Contemporary team stories published the next morning described the same package. The conditional 2014 choice was ultimately not conveyed.
Philadelphia Eagles Return
Benn was the veteran upside play. He had flashed as a former second-round receiver in Tampa Bay, but his Eagles tenure ended before it produced a regular-season snap: he tore his ACL in August and went to injured reserve. Philadelphia also used the acquired seventh-round pick, No. 218, on cornerback Jordan Poyer. Poyer eventually became an outstanding NFL safety, but that later success came after Philadelphia waived him in October. He appeared in only three games as an Eagle.
