The clubs announced the trade on March 13, 2025: Las Vegas acquired Geno Smith and sent Seattle the 92nd overall pick in the 2025 draft. Seattle later used that selection on Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe. The row originally carried March 7, the date the agreement was first reported, but the official transaction date is March 13.
Las Vegas Return
Smith immediately became the Raiders starter. In 2025 he started 15 games, completed 67.4 percent of his passes and threw for 3,025 yards, 19 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. The team went 2-13 in those starts, so the production was real but did not translate into team success. Smith moved on after one season and is with the New York Jets in 2026, limiting Las Vegas to a one-year realized return.
Seattle Return
Seattle turned No. 92 into Jalen Milroe. As a rookie in 2025, Milroe appeared in three games without a start and recorded three rushing attempts for four yards with no passing attempts. He remains on Seattle's 2026 roster, so his long-term value is still open and should not be treated as fully settled.
