NFL Trade Verdict
Chicago Bears Win
The Chargers acquired Khalil Mack from Chicago for a 2022 second-round pick that became Jaquan Brisker and a 2023 sixth-round pick. Mack delivered real pass-rush production for Los Angeles, but the Bears moved an expensive veteran contract and landed a young defensive starter. Chicago gets the slight hindsight edge on value and roster timing.
Chicago Bears Received
- pick 2022 2nd round pick (48th overall, Jaquan Brisker ) and 2023 6th round pick (200th overall subsequently traded, Scott Matlock )
Los Angeles Chargers Received
- player Khalil Mack
Trade Analysis
This was not a disaster for the Chargers because Mack still produced. The Bears still benefited from the timing of the deal: they moved a costly veteran, added a second-round defensive piece, and reset the roster. The value gap is not enormous, but the cleaner asset position belongs to Chicago.
