Trade Analysis
The Jets entered the 2024 offseason needing to stabilize an offensive line that had been damaged by injuries and constant lineup changes. Baltimore, meanwhile, was preparing to transition to a younger line. The Ravens sent veteran right tackle Morgan Moses and pick No. 134 to New York for picks 113 and 218. The Jets used No. 134 on running back Braelon Allen; Baltimore selected receiver Devontez Walker and quarterback Devin Leary.
Moses gave New York the immediate help it wanted. He played through a knee issue and started 14 games in 2024, logging more than 700 offensive snaps. The Jets later allowed him to leave in free agency, so the veteran portion of the return lasted only one season, but it was a full season of starting tackle play rather than a speculative depth addition.
Allen added a second useful piece. As a rookie, he rushed 92 times for 334 yards and two touchdowns and caught 19 passes for 148 yards and another score. His 2025 season was limited to four games, producing 76 rushing yards, but he remained a young roster asset obtained with the pick that accompanied Moses.
Baltimore’s return has become more interesting with time. Walker caught only one pass as a rookie, but in 2025 he turned eight targets into six receptions for 136 yards and three touchdowns. Through two seasons, four of his seven catches have been touchdowns, demonstrating genuine big-play ability even in a limited role. Leary did not become a meaningful NFL quarterback asset.
The Jets still deserve the win because they received a starting tackle and a useful running back from the same transaction. Baltimore’s original C- grade, however, is now too punitive given Walker’s explosive flashes and increasing role. A B for New York and C+ for Baltimore better captures a trade the Jets won without making the Ravens’ return worthless.
