NFL Trade Verdict

Las Vegas Raiders Win

Minnesota sent Randy Moss to the Raiders for Napoleon Harris, the 2005 first-round pick that became Troy Williamson, and a seventh-round pick. The Vikings moved a 28-year-old Hall of Fame receiver and failed to turn the return into anything close to star value. Even with Moss producing only a brief Raiders peak before later reviving his career elsewhere, Oakland received the only elite asset in the trade.

Trade Analysis

The Vikings needed the draft return to offset the loss of Randy Moss, but Troy Williamson never became a true replacement and the rest of the package did not close the value gap. The Raiders did not maximize Moss for long, but they still acquired the best player in the deal by a massive margin. Minnesota's return collapsed, making this a Raiders win in hindsight.
