Chronological Timeline
Trade 1 of 3
Washington moved quarterback Al Dorow to Philadelphia for a 1958 third-round pick and selected Tennessee end Bill Anderson at No. 31. Dorow appeared in six games with one start for the Eagles. Anderson became a six-year Washington receiving fixture, made two Pro Bowls, topped 700 receiving yards in 1959, and ultimately produced more than 3,000 NFL receiving yards.
Trade 2 of 3
Green Bay acquired Bill Anderson from Washington for the 1966 sixth-round selection that became No. 94 Earl Yates. Anderson played 24 regular-season games for the Packers across the 1965 and 1966 championship seasons, giving Green Bay useful depth and experience during a title run. Yates never recorded an NFL regular-season appearance, so the Packers received substantially more realized value.
Trade 3 of 3
The Raiders acquired Chicago's 1990 seventh-round choice at No. 173 and used it on Garry Lewis. The Bears moved three spots down to No. 176, Bill Anderson, and also received No. 298, Roman Matusz. It was a small late-round maneuver with little lasting separation. Oakland secured its preferred player, while Chicago added an extra selection, leaving the exchange appropriately even.
