Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings Win Tier: major
Confidence: high
Minnesota acquired T.J. Hockenson plus two later picks from Detroit for a 2023 second and 2024 third. Hockenson became a central target, setting a Vikings tight end record with 95 catches and 960 yards in 2023 before a severe knee injury reduced his next two seasons. Detroit repeatedly moved the acquired picks, with the assets helping lead to Hendon Hooker and the 2024 move for Terrion Arnold. Minnesota still holds a narrow edge.
Minnesota moved from No. 11 to No. 10 in 2024 for quarterback J.J. McCarthy and also received No. 203, used on kicker Will Reichard. New York drafted left tackle Olu Fashanu and moved the additional picks in later deals. Fashanu became a 17-game starter in 2025, while McCarthy’s first playing season produced 1,632 yards, 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Reichard’s First-Team All-Pro season keeps Minnesota’s return competitive despite the quarterback uncertainty.
