Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers Win Tier: standard
Confidence: high
Denver sent Emmanuel Sanders and a 2020 fifth-round pick to San Francisco for third- and fourth-round selections. The Broncos used No. 95 on McTelvin Agim and later moved the fourth-rounder, but the resulting value never matched Sanders' immediate impact on a 49ers team that reached Super Bowl LIV. Denver gained useful rebuilding capital, yet San Francisco got the more consequential football return.
San Francisco 49ers Win Tier: major
Confidence: high
San Francisco acquired Trent Williams from Washington for a 2020 fifth-round pick and a 2021 third after the seven-time Pro Bowler had missed the entire 2019 season. Williams became even better with the 49ers, earning three straight first-team All-Pro selections from 2021 through 2023 and another All-Pro honor in 2025. Washington received Keith Ismael and Benjamin St-Juste, who supplied starting snaps but nowhere near Williams' value. San Francisco won decisively.
