Denver acquired linebacker Ray May from Baltimore on October 3, 1973 for 1974 third- and eighth-round picks. May became a useful Broncos starter for three seasons, but Baltimore used the third-rounder on guard Robert Pratt, who developed into a long-term Colts lineman with 170 career games. Denver received solid value; Pratt's sustained impact gives Baltimore the stronger return.
Seattle sent a 1984 fifth-round pick to Baltimore for veteran guard Robert Pratt in July 1982. Pratt became a four-year Seattle fixture, starting every game he played for the Seahawks. Baltimore later used No. 130 on tackle Kevin Call, who spent ten seasons with the Colts and started 87 games. Both clubs converted modest assets into long-term offensive-line starters, making this one of the strongest even trades in the group.
