future considerations
Atlanta acquired Perry Griggs from the New York Jets for future considerations on August 26, 1977. Griggs had been a fifth-round Jets draft pick but ultimately appeared in only one NFL regular-season game. With no meaningful on-field return identifiable for Atlanta and no documented high-value consideration going back to New York, an even C/C result is the most proportionate hindsight call.
Atlanta acquired veteran offensive lineman Guy Bingham from the Jets in September 1989 for a 1990 seventh-round pick, No. 167. Bingham spent three seasons with Atlanta and provided veteran line depth, but the Jets turned the late selection into Dwayne White. The longer downstream value attached to White gives New York the stronger hindsight return.

2006 first-round pick, No. 29 overall, used on Nick Mangold
The 2006 John Abraham transaction was a three-team deal with Denver supplying the pick New York used on Nick Mangold. Atlanta landed Abraham plus Denver's third-rounder and a 2007 fourth, while Denver received the Falcons' No. 15 choice. Both New York and Atlanta converted the exchange into long-term star value, with Mangold's decade at center giving the Jets a narrow historical edge.
