Las Vegas Raiders received
Ron Pritchard
Cincinnati sent linebacker Ron Pritchard to Oakland under a conditional arrangement tied to whether he made the Raiders roster. Pritchard did not satisfy the condition, so Cincinnati never received the contemplated draft choice or another realized return. With no asset ultimately coming back to the Bengals, the exchange produced no meaningful value for either side.
Cincinnati sent defensive back Rickey Dixon to the Los Angeles Raiders in July 1993 for a future sixth-round selection that became No. 184 in 1994. The Bengals used the pick on offensive lineman Jerry Reynolds, who never played a regular-season game for Cincinnati. Dixon appeared in only two Raiders games before knee trouble interrupted his season, leaving both clubs with minimal realized value.
Cincinnati turned an absent Carson Palmer into a 2012 first-round pick that became Dre Kirkpatrick and a 2013 second-round pick that became Giovani Bernard. The Raiders were desperate after Jason Campbell's injury and paid a premium for a quarterback who gave them short-term competence but no real contention. The Bengals extracted major value from a player who had already threatened retirement rather than return.
