Houston Texans received Jerry DeLoach. Washington acquired Danny Wuerffel as quarterback depth in a system familiar to him, but the move produced only limited lasting value. Its C+ grade reflects the value of that return relative to what Washington received. The grade remains tied to documented value for the acquiring club, without assigning credit for unresolved or hypothetical downstream consideration.
Washington sent picks No. 127, No. 144 and No. 152 to Houston for Nos. 105 and 178. Washington selected Roy Helu and Aldrick Robinson, receiving productive offensive seasons from both. Houston drafted Roc Carmichael, Shiloh Keo and T.J. Yates, with Yates delivering a rookie playoff victory during the franchise's first postseason appearance.
Houston moved up one spot in the 2016 first round for receiver Will Fuller, giving Washington pick 22 plus a 2017 sixth-rounder. Fuller became a dangerous vertical threat and produced five productive Texans seasons when healthy. Washington selected Josh Doctson at No. 22 and later Robert Davis with the extra pick; neither matched Fuller's impact. Houston clearly won despite Fuller's recurring injuries limiting the ceiling of the move.
Washington acquired five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil and a 2025 fourth-round pick from Houston for a third, seventh, 2026 second and 2026 fourth. Tunsil immediately stabilized the left side, earning an 88.9 pass-blocking grade while allowing only a handful of pressures and later signing an extension. Houston received substantial draft capital, keeping the overall exchange close.
