Minnesota traded wide receiver Troy Williamson to Jacksonville for the 193rd pick in the 2008 draft and selected Jaymar Johnson. Williamson caught only eight passes for 64 yards and one touchdown across two Jaguars seasons. Johnson made the Vikings as a reserve after a practice-squad year but recorded only one NFL reception. Both teams took inexpensive chances on disappointing assets, and neither created meaningful long-term value.
Minnesota acquired Yannick Ngakoue from Jacksonville for a 2021 second-round pick and conditional 2022 fifth, but the experiment lasted only six games. Ngakoue recorded five sacks before the Vikings traded him to Baltimore for a third and conditional fifth, recovering much of the cost. Jacksonville used the second-rounder on Walker Little, who developed into a starting tackle and earned an extension in 2024. The Jaguars won, though Minnesota's successful salvage keeps the loss from being severe.
Minnesota sent starting guard Ezra Cleveland to Jacksonville at the 2023 deadline for a 2024 sixth-round pick, which became tackle Walter Rouse at No. 177. Cleveland quickly became a Jaguars starter, re-signed in 2024 and started 36 regular-season games for Jacksonville through 2025. Rouse played eight games without a start over his first two Vikings seasons. Jacksonville obtained far more immediate and sustained value.
Minnesota moved from No. 23 to No. 17 in 2024 for edge rusher Dallas Turner, sending Jacksonville four selections. Turner developed from a rookie reserve into a 10-game starter with eight sacks and four forced fumbles in 2025. Jacksonville still owns the stronger return because No. 23 became Brian Thomas Jr., who posted a 1,282-yard Pro Bowl rookie season, while the additional Jaguars assets provided extra value around him.
Minnesota acquired Cam Robinson at midseason after Christian Darrisaw was injured and received the veteran tackle play it urgently needed during a 14-win season. Jacksonville ultimately secured a 2026 fourth-round pick, a respectable return for a player on an expiring contract. The Jaguars were compensated fairly, but Robinson's immediate role in stabilizing Minnesota's line gives the Vikings the modest edge.
