Clippers Win. Los Angeles received both immediate veteran depth and premium draft capital. The first-round pick landing at No. 6 gave the Clippers a particularly valuable asset, and the breadth of the return comfortably exceeds what Sacramento obtained from the outgoing veteran package. Sacramento did receive established players rather than empty contracts, and Derek Smith was the most important of the incoming names. That prevents an absolute zero grade, but injuries, age and limited tenure kept the Kings’ realized value well below the package they surrendered.
