Chronological Timeline
Trade 1 of 2
Chicago acquired Montez Sweat for the 2024 second-round pick that became No. 40. Sweat produced 21.5 sacks in 42 regular-season games for the Bears from the trade through 2025 and signed a long-term extension. Washington later packaged No. 40 with two other picks to acquire Nos. 50, 53 and 161, so those three selections cannot be credited solely to the Sweat trade. Both sides created substantial value.
Trade 2 of 2
Philadelphia moved from No. 50 to No. 40 by sending Washington picks No. 50, 53 and 161 for Nos. 40, 78 and 152. The Eagles selected Cooper DeJean, who became a Super Bowl playmaker and first-team All-Pro. Washington used No. 50 on Mike Sainristil and also added Ben Sinnott and Dominique Hampton, leaving both clubs with substantial young talent from the exchange.
